Rome, November 15 - Amber Rill is the winner of the contest in New York to discover new talents worldwide organized by the Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella, the Valpolicella Wine Consortium.
Rill will be able to directly participate in the second edition of a high-level training program in Veneto, the 'Valpolicella education program' (Vep).
Created to celebrate the 50 years of the DOC wine from Veneto's Verona area, the course will be held on January 29-31 at the headquarters of the Consortium near Verona, with the participation of experts, including candidates for the 'Master of Wine' title.
For three days, participants will have the opportunity of acquiring new knowledge and becoming 'Valpolicella Wine specialists' able to communicate the excellence of this wine worldwide.
The Vep is a highly sought-after course, the Consortium said, adding that applications for the next edition are being filed from around the world.
Applications can be filed until the end of the month. Rill is an Assistant Beverage Director at wine bar Corkbuzz in New York.
Janusz Sasiadek in London and Matthew Landry in Vancouver have also won contests in 2018 promoted by the Consortium.
