Fashion: Versace mania spreads at H&M's worldwide
Stores in Dubai, Beijing sell out within 30 mins

(ANSA) - Rome, November 18 - Versace mania has spread around
the globe after H&M started to sell a special collection created
for it by the Italian fashion house in Europe and Asia.Shoppers queued outside selected outlets for up to 24 hours to get their hands on items by the legendary brand at high-street prices, with stores in Dubai and Beijing selling all their stock within 30 minutes on Thursday.
Similar scenes are expected in the United States on Saturday, when Donatella Versace's collection goes on sale at H&M stores there.
H&M approached Versace two years ago and invited her to collaborate with the chain, but she initially refused.
''I wanted to work to stabilise the main collection everywhere in the world,'' she told British Vogue.
''We were strong in most places, but other places we had to work''.
Versace's goal is to make her colourful, funky clothing designs more widely available to a larger and younger consumer base.
The H&M line includes a women's and men's collection as well as homewares. Women's wear designs include striking hot pink and lime-green jungle prints, body-hugging evening wear and leggings.
