(ANSA) - Rome, June 12 - The Italian Treasury said Thursday
it sold 8.5 billion euros of three-year bonds at a new record
low interest rate of 0.89%.
The entire offering of the bonds, which mature in May 2017,
were sold, the Treasury said in a note.
Meanwhile, Italy's benchmark 10-year bond was trading
Thursday morning at a low level of 2.80% with the spread between
BTPs and the ultra-safe German Bund opening trading at 140 basis
points.
The spread closed Wednesday at 139 basis points.
