(ANSA) - Turin, June 18 - In order to be recognized as a
woman by the government, a transsexual man must undergo a full
sex-change operation, and not just be ''psychologically certain
he belongs to the female sex'', a Turin court said Wednesday.
The court rejected an appeal by a local man who had breast
implants and his vocal chords altered.
Otherwise, we would end up ''claiming rights for a kind of
intermediate gender between the male and the female, which has
no juridical standing in the Constitution or under international
law'', the court wrote.
