(ANSA) - Rome, June 23 - The death toll from a weekend Boko
Haram raid in three north Nigerian villages rose from 10 to 40
Monday.
The Islamist group, which has waged an increasingly bloody
insurgency since 2009 in an attempt to create an Islamic state,
has stepped up its attacks since the abduction of 200
schoolgirls in April and thousands have died.
