Truce breaks down between Palestinian forces, Israel

(ANSA) - Gaza, August 20 - The wife and daughter of a Hamas military chief have been killed in an Israeli air raid, according to a senior Hamas leader in exile in Cairo.
The raid came as Palestinian militants and Israeli military forces exchanged air strikes on Wednesday as a temporary truce between the two sides collapsed.
In a post on Facebook, Abu Marzouq, the second in command of Hamas's political wing in exile, said that the wife and daughter of military chief Mohammed Deif were killed in an air raid.
The Israeli military said it carried out some 60 air strikes on Gaza targets, and said that Palestinians had fired at least 80 rockets at Israel since the temporary truce collapsed.
