(ANSA) - Turin, September 2 - Controversy has erupted in
northern Italy over a poster used to promote an art exhibition
organized by Turin's gay community and bearing an image some say
is sacrilegious.
The poster for the show, sponsored by the lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transsexual community (LGBT), is decorated with a
photo of an art work depicting a large naked woman with one foot
propped on a religious image.
The exhibition is called the International Art Exhibition
LGBTE (The Great Battle To find Results) and with the
inscription 'Saligia', a likely reference to 14th century art
that often used the mnemonic acronym based on the first letters
in Latin of the seven deadly sins.
