(ANSA) - New Delhi, December 11 - India and Russia on
Thursday announced plans to build at least 10 nuclear reactors
on Indian soil.
The project is part of a broader agreement to boost nuclear
and defence cooperation between the two countries.
India already has a nuclear reactor operating at the
Russian-built power station in the southern state of Tamil Nadu,
with a second reactor due to come onstream next year.
The new reactors will be built "thanks to cooperation with
our Russian friends," Indian Premier Narendra Modi said.
