(ANSA) - Genoa, February 23 - Genoa prosecutors on Monday
requested indictments against three former regional officials
and a local party treasurer on charges of embezzlement.
Ex-regional council vice president Nicolò Scialfa, former
council member Marylin Fusco, former MP Giovanni Paladini, and
ex treasurer Giorgio De Lucchi, all from the small centrist
Italy of Values (IdV) party, have opted for a fast-track trial
set to begin March 23.
Also on Monday, the prosecution requested sentences of two
years two months in prison for ex-IdV regional council members
Maruska Piredda and Stefano Quaini, who are accused of
embezzlement in the same case.
