(ANSA) - Rome, March 2 - The spread between Italy's
benchmark 10-year bond and its ultra-safe German counterpart
reached a record low of 96 basis points in trading Monday.
The yield on Italy's 10-year paper traded at 1.3%.
The spread between lending rates in the two countries is an
important indication of investor faith in the Italian economy.
Also on Monday, the spread between Greek and German 10-year
bonds was 893 basis points with the yield on Greece's 10-year
paper trading at 9.2%.
