(ANSA) - Rome, March 25 - An experiment has demonstrated for
the first time that the measurement of a particle taken in a
determined point influences the measurement of the same particle
taken in a different point. The revelation goes against a
position taken by Albert Einstein and opens a path toward new
means for protecting data like documents, email and bank account
access codes.
The finding could open the doors to a new way of encrypting
documents, because if prying eyes are discovered intercepting
photons to read messages, the violation can be detected
instantly, triggering countermeasures.
The research published in Nature Communications was
coordinated by Howard Wiseman at Griffith University in
Australia and Akira Furusawa at the University of Tokyo.
