(ANSA) - Milan, July 8 - Giorgio Squinzi, the head of
industrial employers' confederation Confindustria, said
Wednesday that he intends to confront Italy's trade unions,
arguing they are hampering change. "In the next few days I'll
have a meeting with the national union heads and I'll put their
backs to the wall," Squinzi said. "We can't go on like this.
Today Italy's unions are made up of pensioners and protected
groups".
