(ANSA) - Brussels, August 19 - "From January to June 2015
the EU has received more than 400,000 asylum requests," a
European Commission spokesman said Wednesday, adding "the total
for 2014 was 600,000".
"This is not a Greek, Italian or German crisis. This is a
global migratory crisis that requires courageous joint action,"
the spokesman said.
The EU faces rising numbers of migrants and refugees from
countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Libya and Nigeria.
