(ANSA) - Rome, October 8 - The vicepresident of Unicredit,
Fabrizio Palenzona, is being investigated by the anti-mafia
department of the District Prosecutor's Office in Florence, ANSA
learned Thursday.
Investigations by the special investigations squad into
alleged mafia infiltration in the finance sector have already
lead to searches elsewhere in Tuscany.
Palenzona's career has spanned both the financial and
political sectors. In the late 1980s, he became mayor of Tortona
and was later president of the province of Alessandria,
Piedmont.
