(ANSA) - Turin, November 12 - A parent punched a teacher for
being too strict, La Stampa paper reported Thursday.
Twenty angry parents had assembled at Gozzano elementary
school in the northwestern Turin suburb of Lucento, alleging the
50-year-old substitute teacher was "too authoritarian".
Children had been coming home in tears, they said.
Police had to intervene to break the protest up.
Principal Maria Pisciumeri met with a delegation from the
parents, but said she has no intention of replacing the
substitute.
"That is a problem class, and the parents encourage
rebellious behavior in their children," she said.
