(ANSA) - Vatican City, November 16 - Pope Francis wants
Muslims involved in the upcoming Jubilee Year of Mercy, which
can serve as common ground to find solutions to overcoming hate,
said Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin in an
interview published Monday by French Catholic daily La Croix.
"The pope wants the Jubilee to serve for people meeting, to
understand and overcome their hate," Parolin said.
"In a world lacerated by violence, it's the right time to
launch a mercy offensive," Parolin said in the wake of Friday's
attacks by Islamist terrorists in Paris in which at least 129
people died.
"Mercy is also the most beautiful name of God for the
Muslims, who can be involved in this Holy Year, as the pope
wishes".
