(ANSA) - Rome, February 1 - Italian Foreign Minister Paolo
Gentiloni has asked his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry for
"maximum effort" in the search for Italian doctoral student
Giulio Regeni.
Regeni went missing in Cairo on January 25, the day of
demonstrations marking the fifth anniversary of the Egyptian
Revolution.
Italy's Foreign Ministry announced the disappearance, which
it said took place under "mysterious" circumstances, on Sunday.
On the day of the demonstrations, Egyptian authorities
arrested about a dozen people in the country's capital.
