Press freedom reference or no Turkey deal says Renzi (2)

(ANSA) - Brussels, March 7 - Premier Matteo Renzi requested an item on freedom of the press be included in the final declaration of an ongoing EU-Turkey migration summit or he will withdraw Italy's backing, European sources said Monday. Also on Monday, Renzi met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande, Turkish Premier Ahmet Davutoglu, and EU foreign minister Federica Mogherini on the sidelines of the summit.
