(ANSA) - Rome, April 11 - The economic recession was
"unprecedented" for Italy and national GDP still lags pre-crisis
levels by nine points, the government said Monday in a report to
parliament accompanying its 2016 financial and economic planning
document (DEF). "Compared to pre-crisis production trends -
which were already posting unsatisfactory results prior to 2008
- the gap in production output is almost 20 points," the paper
said.
