(ANSA) - Rome, April 13 - Premier Matteo Renzi said on a live Facebook and Twitter feed Wednesday that he is prepared to resign if referendum voters nix his constitutional reform law.
"The constitutional reform vote must not (become) a vote about me," he said. "However, clearly I must take the consequences and if we don't make it I will go home".
The constitutional reform passed into law yesterday is "a gigantic step forward". "It brings Italy into the future," he said. "Everyone is amazed...that politics is resolving issues that had been stagnating for too many years".
