(ANSA) - Cagliari, March 9 - The mayor of a northern
Sardinian town was arrested in a graft probe Thursday.
Centre-right official Francesco Pala, 52, mayor of Palau, is
accused of granting favours in exchange for votes.
Also arrested on the same grounds was deputy mayor Maria
Piera Pes, 56.
Both officials were placed under house arrest.
