(ANSA) - Rome, July 14 - Civitavecchia Mayor Antonio
Cozzolino on Friday rejected an interior ministry plan to set up
a migrant hotspot in the Lazio port city. "The port is not ready
to host a hotspot and if the ministry continues along this
dangerous road we will have to face an emergency that will be
difficult, if not impossible, to handle," he said. Well-informed
sources told ANSA that Civitavecchia would not host a permanent
hotspot but would be used now and then to take the pressure off
Sicilian ports.
