(ANSA) - Rome, October 24 - The Rome provincial security committee met at the prefect's office on Wednesday with Mayor Virginia Raggi, Interior Minister Matteo Salvini and the city's chief prosecutor Giuseppe Pignatone among the participants.
Among the issues was the case of Desiree Mariottini, a 16-year-old gang raped and murdered in an abandoned building in the city's San Lorenzo district, and the situation regarding evictions of illegally occupied properties.
Interior Minister and Deputy Premier Matteo Salvini was greeted by chants of 'jackal, jackal' on Wednesday when he visited the abandoned building in the San Lorenzo district of Rome where the girls body was found.
Other people in the area, however, applauded the minister and shouted "we are all with you".
