(ANSA) - Rome, January 11 - Snow and icy temperatures have
led to school closings in many parts of Italy and some road
accidents.
Schools in about 15 towns in the Molise region have been
ordered closed and temperatures below -2 have led to icy road
conditions in Campobasso.
Several schools also remain shut in northern Puglia, in the
Foggia area.
A landslide in Calabria led to the closing of the state
highway 107 "Silana Crotonese" between Paola and San Sili on
Thursday evening.
Inspections were underway to see whether it could be reopened
on Friday morning.
In Sardinia, temperatures have dropped as low as -10 degrees
Celsius.
Schools will reopen Saturday as the cold snap eases.
Temperatures will rise in Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Calabria
and Sicily, forecasters said.
