Govt to set up anti-wild boar courses

'Operators' will flank rangers in culling programmes

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Rome, January 16 - The government is to set up courses to train people to fight Italy's wild-boar emergency according to an amendment filed by the far-right League party to the simplification decree.
Boars are increasingly encroaching on urban areas and have caused at least one fatal car crash recently.
Under the amendment, "operators" will be trained to deal with the animals, flanking forest rangers who are already involved in culling programmes.
