(ANSA) - Rome, January 21 - League lawmaker Simone Pillon on
Monday blasted a lesson given to schoolchildren by transgender
actor and former parliamentarian Vladimir Luxuria that was
screened by State broadcaster RAI.
"Gender lessons to a class of children are unacceptable,"
said Pillon, the vice-president of the parliamentary commission
for childhood and adolescence, referring to the contents of RAI3
show Alla Lavagna! (At the Blackboard).
"Vladimir Luxuria should go and tell her 'bird fairytale'
somewhere else, definitely not in a school with kids who are
minors in front of the RAI's cameras, referring to a common
synonym for the penis.
"It is a shameful form of indoctrination... We will file a
question to the RAI parliamentary oversight committee".
The League's government partner, the anti-establishment
5-Star Movement (M5S), called the League's attacks on Luxuria
"surreal homophobic polemics".
The M5S's cabinet secretary with the equal opportunities
brief, Vincenzo Spadafora, said the League's attitude was
"retrograde".
He said RAI's initiatives in this direction "should be
supported".
