(ANSA) - Rome, February 25 - Antonio Casamonica, one of the top members of the Roman crime family, on Monday got seven years in jail for a raid on a bar on the outskirts of the Italian capital last April 1.
He was found guilty of grievous bodily harm and private violence aggravate by mafia methods.
The raid was also carried out by three members of the Di Silvio clan, an allied crime family.
On October 15 the three Di Silvios received mafia convictions for the raid.
Alfredo Di Silvio was sentenced to four years and 10 months; his brother Vincenzo to four years and eight months; and the grandfather, Enrico, got three years and two months.
The raid took place in the outlying Romanina district.
The bar owner and a young disabled woman were targeted.
Like the Casamonicas, the Di Silvios are a mafia-style gang of Roma extraction.
Unlike the Di Silvios who opted for a fast-track trial, Antonio Casamonica requested a full trial.
In beating the bar owner and the disabled woman, the four allegedly said "we are the bosses here, it's all ours".
