(ANSA) - Brussels, March 12 - Some 13 European Union
countries have already signed a memorandum of understanding with
China on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) or 'new Silk Road,
while another one, Luxembourg, along with Italy, is negotiating,
EU sources said Tuesday.
The signatories are Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic,
Estonia, Hungary, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland,
Portugal, Slovakia and Slovenia, the sources said.
In principle, they said, there are no formal
"counter-indications" to signing such documents and it all
depends on what they contain.
