(ANSA) - Rome, May 16 - Lazio won the Italian Cup for the
seventh time when they beat Atalanta 2-0 in Wednesday's final at
the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Late goals by substitute Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Joaquin
Correa gave the Roman team the trophy, which also ensures they
qualify for next season's Europa League.
Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was furious that that
Bergamo side were not given a penalty for handball by Lazio
defender Bastos in the first half when the score was 0-0.
The Cup final was marred by violent clashes between a big
group of Lazio 'ultra' hardcore fans and police before kickoff.
Five fans were arrested and a police car was set alight
during the trouble.
