(ANSA) - Rome, June 3 - Two inmates escaped from Rome's
Rebibbia Prison overnight, sources said on Wednesday.
According to early reports they climbed over the exterior
wall and let themselves down on a rope, dodging guards.
A manhunt has been launched in the area.
The men were not immediately named.
They were said to be a 46-year-old born in Croatia and a
40-year-old from Olbia in Sardinia.
Both are of traveler origin and were in jail for robbery.
Police are searching Roma camps, rail stations and airports.
