(ANSA) - Rome, June 12 - The Civil Protection Department said Friday that Italy has registered 393 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
This was up from 379 new cases on Thursday.
There are 272 fresh cases in Lombardy, 69.2% of Friday's national daily rise. The department said 34,223 COVID-19 sufferers have died in Italy, up 56.
On Thursday, there were 53 new victims. There were 31 new victims in Lombardy on Friday compared to 25 Thursday.
It said 173,085 people have now recovered from the coronavirus in Italy, up 1,747.
That compares to Thursday's rise of 1,399.
There are currently 28,997 people infected with the coronavirus here, 1,640 down on Thursday, when the fall was 1,073.
The total number of cases in Italy, counting the currently positive, the deceased and those who have recovered, is now 236,305.
