(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 28 - The head of the anti-COVID-19
taskforce of the north-eastern region of Friuli Venezia Giulia
said Thursday that 46 people have the coronavirus after taking
part in the recent protests in Trieste and Gorizia against the
Green Pass health certificate being obligatory for Italian
places of work.
Taskforce chief Fabio Barbone said all 46 were unvaccinated for
COVID-19.
"For days the protestors took to the streets without facemasks,
spending lots of time with outsiders, elbow to elbow," said
Barbone.
"If there were a few people who were asymptomatic, it was easier
for the virus to spread.
"It's the perfect storm". (ANSA).
