(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 26 - Experts taking part in the national
congress of the Italian Society of Neuropsychopharmacology
(SINPF) on Wednesday sounded the alarm about a worldwide
mental-health crisis, especially among young people, that has
been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The experts referred to a meta-analysis of 29 studies on 80,000
young people published in JAMA Pediatrics which showed that one
adolescent in four has symptoms of depression and one in five
shows signs of an anxiety disorder.
It said such cases have doubled over the last two years. (ANSA).
