(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 17 - Italy's Constitutional Court on Wednesday rejected a petition to hold a referendum on legalising growing cannabis for personal use.
Constitutional Court President Giuliano Amato said that a yes to this referendum could lead to Italy breaching international obligations regarding narcotics.
The court also rejected a request for a referendum on making judges personally responsible in terms of civil law for the mistakes they make, rather than the State, but approved five other referendum petitions on justice issues.
On Tuesday the court rejected a petition to hold a referendum on legalising euthanasia. (ANSA).
