(ANSA) - ROME, APR 1 - The tiny republic of San Marino has
got the world's first LGBT head of State.
Paolo Rondelli, ex vice-president of Arcigay Rimini and the
first ambassador of the Republic in the United States, has been
named one of the two new captain regents, heads of state who
have no executive powers and who serve six-month terms.
Hitherto there have been openly gay ministers and premiers in
the world, but never any LGBT heads of State. (ANSA).
