(ANSA) - ROME, APR 11 - Italy's ACI motoring association said
Monday that it will hold an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday to
open disciplinary proceedings against 15-year-old Russian driver
Artyom Severyukhin, who did a Nazi salute on the podium after
winning a junior race in Portugal in the European Karting
Championship on Sunday.
Severyukhin risks losing his Italian licence, under which he has
been racing following the penalties imposed on Russia due to the
invasion of Ukraine.
The boy beat his chest, did the Nazi salute and then started
laughing on the podium as the Italian national anthem played.
ACI said it "firmly condemned" the "deplorable behaviour" of
Severyukhin, adding that it had sent a message to the Ukrainian
motor sport association. (ANSA).
