(ANSA) - ROME, APR 28 - A 25-year-old Bangladeshi cook was
sentenced to life imprisonment Thursday for decapitating a
25-year-old Bangladeshi pizzeria dishwasher in the victim's home
in Turin on June 9, 2021.
Mohamed Mostafa was found guilty of murdering Mohamed Ibrahim.
His lawyer said she would appeal saying that her client had
reacted after being attacked by the victim.
Prosecutors said the pair quarreled over a debt or perhaps also
a "fake marriage engagement".
Mostafa was sending money to a young female relative in
Bangladesh on the mistaken premise that the other man would
marry her, they said.
After strangling Ibrahim, Mostafa beheaded him to stop his
spirit pursuing him, the court heard. (ANSA).
