(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 11 - At the end of his weekly general
audience on Wednesday, Pope Francis met the wives of two
officers from Ukraine's Azov battalion that is trapped inside
Mariupol's Azovstal steel plant.
The women, Katarina and Yulia, had recently written to the
pontiff about their husbands and were given a surprise
invitation for a meeting at the audience on Tuesday.
"Let's hope that this meeting gives us a chance to save their
lives" they said. (ANSA).
