(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 17 - Italy has given Kyiv enough arms and
should stop further shipments of weapons to help Ukraine's
defence against the Russian invasion, 5-Star Movement (M5S)
leader and ex-premier Giuseppe Conte reiterated Tuesday.
"We have concluded the work of the national council.
"This is a new phase in which Italy must be the protagonist in
pushing for a negotiation (between Kyiv and Moscow).
"A propos of sending arms, Italy has already done its bit".
The M5S and the rightwing League party have both objected to
fresh arms shipments to Ukraine, but the government is set to
approve them. (ANSA).
