(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 3 - The website of the Genoa and Savona
port system came under an attempted cyberattack on Friday, the
port authority said.
Speedy intervention by the postal police fended off the hackers.
The attack was organized by the pro-Russian Killnet group,
sources said.
Killnet has staged several attacks on Italian public
institutions in recent weeks, including on the websites of the
Senate and the defence ministry.
It had said it would launch a cyberattack on Monday that would
inflict "irreparable" damage on the country, but this did not
materialize.
The Italian government has backed Western sanctions on Russia
following its invasion of Ukraine and has given support to Kyiv,
including military aid. (ANSA).
