(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 12 - Napoli and AC Milan took advantage of Atalanta being held 1-1 at home by Cremonese to pull level with the Bergamo side at the top of Serie A thanks to 1-0 and 2-1 wins over Spezia and Sampdoria respectively at the weekend.
All three sides have 14 points from six games.
Surprise package Udinese are just one point behind the leading trio after they continued their strong form with a 3-1 victory at Sassuolo.
Inter are fifth thanks to a 1-0 home win over Torino.
Juventus are four points off the pace in eighth place after drawing 2-2 at home with Salernitana in a match that had a dramatic, bad-tempered ending.
The Turin giants had managed to come back from being two goals down and thought they had snatched victory when Arkadiusz Milik headed home deep into injury time.
But the goal was disallowed by the VAR for offside by another player, sparking furious protests.
Milik was sent off after getting a second yellow for taking his shirt off as he celebrated what he thought was the winner.
Juve's Juan Cuadrado coach Massimiliano Allegri and Salernitana's Federico Fazio also got red cards as tension soared at the end of the game. (ANSA).
