(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 27 - Italy keeper Gigio Donnarumma said
reaching the Final Four of the Nations League has given the
Azzurri a much needed morale boost following their failure to
qualify for this year's World Cup.
The European champions clinched a place in the Final Four for
the second consecutive time with a 2-0 win in Hungary on Monday
thanks to goals by Giacomo Raspadori and Federico Dimarco,
enabling them to finish top of Group 3.
"This victory will bring back some enthusiasm, even if the World
Cup is still an open wound and we can't go back and change it,"
said Donnarumma, who pulled off a series of fine saves in
Budapest on Monday.
"We've done well to come back with two wins (in the last two
games) and qualification for the Final Four.
"We're going to go out and try and win the Nations League."
