(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 5 - Carlo Sangalli, the president of
retailers association Confcommercio, said Wednesday that at
least 120,000 small Italian businesses risk closing in the first
half of 2023, amid the cost-of-living crisis and soaring energy
prices.
He said that over 370,000 jobs were at risk as a result.
"These emergencies are on top of the structural problems
regarding growth and consumer sending, combined with an
excessive tax burden, which characterise our economy," Sangalli
told the Confcommercio Campania assembly. (ANSA).
