(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 12 - Another lot of Italian spinach was
withdrawn from circulation in a mandrake contamination scare on
Wednesday.
There have been several cases of mandrake poisoning from eating
tainted spinach around the country recently.
People have suffered dizziness, upset stomachs and
hallucinations among other symptoms.
The spinach pulled Wednesday was lot 273 of Il Gigante, produced
by the Spinerb company.
The health ministry urged consumers to avoid eating spinach from
the lot and to take it back to the shop. (ANSA).
