(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 12 - A 13-year-old 'African' boy whose
nationality is unknown since he is without papers earlier this
week attacked an American tourist in Milan and stole his 27,000
euro luxury watch, police said Wednesday noting that they could
only report him to child authorities because he is under age.
The boy has been stopped four times for robbing passersby in the
Lombard capital over the last month, they said.
In his latest attack, he sprayed pepper spray into the
35-year-old American's face before snatching his Rolex Daytona,
police said.
The attack took place in downtown Via Manzoni at about half past
11 at night.
The boy threw the watch away as police approached but they got
it back and returned it to the victim.
The boy has been placed in a children's home in Genoa.
He has previously escaped from other homes. (ANSA).
