(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 12 - Samantha Cristoforetti, the first
European woman commander of the International Space Station, on
Wednesday handed over command of the ISS to her Russian
colleague Sergey Prokopyev.
'AstroSamantha' commanded the station for two weeks, the second
shortest stint after American colleague Shannon Walker who led
the ISS for 11 days.
She said "thank you Italy, my country, for the opportunity you
offered me to be on board the Space Station". (ANSA).
