(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 12 - Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal
Pietro Parolin said Wednesday that likely incoming premier
Giorgia Meloni had made a "serious start" to picking her cabinet
and framing her agenda since last month's general election and
the Vatican would judge her on her actions.
"We are all clearly looking forward to this start with great
expectations," he said.
"Our wish is: concentrate on the country's problems, which are
many".
The energy emergency and cost of living crisis will be top of
Meloni's in-tray along with continued support for Ukraine.
