(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 13 - Genoa airport was brought to a
standstill Thursday by striking workers from the Ansaldo Energia
energy plant protesting against plans to close their factory.
A group of workers blocked the boarding gate area.
Previously there were moments of tension with police outside the
building.
Liguria Governor Giovanni Toti and Genoa Mayor Marco Bucci
issued a statement saying that "thuggery does not help
dialogue".
They said "you don't defend your own rights by trampling those
of others". (ANSA).
