Consumer spending down 2% in September say retailers

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 14 - Retailers association Confcommercio said Friday that its consumer spending index (ICC) dropped by 2% in year-on-year terms in September. It said expenditure on services was down by 2. 7% and on goods by 4%.
    It said the biggest drops were registered in the electrical appliances (-14,6%), car (-6.2%), clothing (-5.4%) and food (-4.9%) sectors. (ANSA).
