(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 28 - Italy's premier news agency ANSA on
Thursday signed a partnership accord with India's PTI news
agency.
The deal envisages the exchange of content and the possibility
of developing joint commercial ventures in support of the
communications of institutions and businesses in their
respective countries.
Italy's ambassador in India, Vincenzo De Luca, said "the
ANSA-PTI accord comes, 75 years after the start of diplomatic
relations between Italy and India, at a moment of extraordinary
development of relations between the two countries at a
political, economic and cultural level.
"The partnership between the two agencies will favour a greater
exchange of information and knowledge between Italy and India."
PTI CEO Vijay Joshi voiced the hope that the partnership would
extend to photos and videos while ANSA Managing Director
Stefano De Alessandri said it would "enable us to better know
what happens in India and vice versa".
He added: "ANSA and PTI have a lot in common. I consider this
accord only a starting point for soon broadening our
collaboration also in the commercial sphere". (ANSA).
